Joao Moutinho and Diego Costa will leave Wolves in 2023, but Adama Traore is in talks to stay in the sport

Joao Moutinho, Diego Costa, and Adama Traore are all departing Wolverhampton Wanderers at the conclusion of their current contracts, the Premier League club announced on Friday.

After a challenging season during which Julien Lopetegui took over as manager in early November, Wolves came in at 13th place.

The 36-year-old Moutinho joined Wolves from Monaco in 2018 and has played more than 200 times for the club in the Midlands.

He has been crucial to our success over the last four or five years. He now leaves the football club with nothing but gratitude, according to a statement from Wolves sports director Matt Hobbs.

In the midst of an injury problem, the 34-year-old Costa was signed in September and has one goal in 25 appearances.

At the conclusion of the five-year deal he signed when he joined from Middlesbrough in the same year as Moutinho, Traore made his 194th appearance for Arsenal in the season’s last match.

The 27-year-old international from Spain, nevertheless, may still be in Lopetegui’s plans for the next campaign.

“We’re continuing in talks with Adama, a guy we’d want to retain. Even though he is no longer under contract, discussions will continue since there is still time to reach a compromise, according to Hobbs.
