Leader of Rajasthan BJP ejected for comments on Gurdwaras

Sandeep Dayma, the head of the Rajasthan chapter of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has been removed due to his contentious remarks on Gurdwaras.

Onkar Singh Lakhawat, the head of the Rajasthan BJP’s disciplinary committee, said that Dayma will be kicked out.

According to the party’s announcement on Sunday, “Sandeep Dayma has been expelled from the party on the direction of the state president for making a statement against the ideology of the party.”

Amarinder Singh, a former chief minister of Punjab and a prominent member of the BJP, was among those who demanded his removal.

At an election rally in Alwar, Rajasthan, Sandeep Dayma made a ridiculous comment that infuriated the Sikh community.

“Look how many mosques and gurdwaras have been built here!” BJP leader Sandeep Dayma allegedly said at an election rally in Alwar in favor of Balaknath. We’ll eventually get an ulcer from this. It is thus our responsibility to remove this ulcer and ensure that Baba Balak Nathji wins by a landslide.

The Sikh community was incensed by the BJP leader’s remark, which sparked demonstrations and the burning of Dayma effigies.

The statement sparked intense backlash from opposition parties as the video went viral on social media.

Jasbir Singh Gill, a Congress MP, too took issue with the BJP leader’s harsh comments.

“Forever serving mankind, the Gurdwaras have never inquired about the caste or religion of any individual. The doors of Gurdwaras, contribution boxes, and langar have always remained open for everyone, regardless of Corona or any other natural disaster. Jasbir Singh said in a post on X that “people like Sandeep will pay a heavy price for their low-level thinking and psychology—Nanak Naam Chardi Kala, Tere Bhane Sarbat da Bhala.”

After receiving harsh criticism for his comments from the opposition, Dayma apologized in a video posted on his social media account.

“I accidentally ended up utilizing some incorrect wording regarding the Gurdwara Saheb in place of Masjid-Madrasa. I respectfully want an apology from the Sikh community as a whole, who have always upheld Hinduism and Sanatan Dharma. I have no idea how I made the error. I’m heading to a Gurdwara to atone for my error. With folded hands, I apologize to the Sikh community as a whole. Pray, Lord Akal! Dayma said on the footage.
