Men succeed and Punjabi women do

Punjab’s Masters teams for men and women over 35 years old and women over 50 years old won gold medals in the second Masters Hockey League, which was held in Samrala, Ludhiana, from March 22 to 25. The league was hosted by the Masters Hockey Welfare Society. Teams from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi were among those that took part in this five-day competition.

Punjab (Red) defeated Punjab (Blue) by a score of 4-1 to win the gold medal in the women’s over-35 category. The Himachal team, however, came in third. In the league round, Himachal scored four points, Punjab Blue scored seven, and Punjab (Red) scored nine. Punjab (Red) defeated Punjab (Blue) 3-0 to win the gold medal in the men’s over-50 age group, while Bathinda Masters took third place.

Bathinda received three points, Punjab (Red) received nine, and Punjab (Blue) received six.
