Mohammed Shami’s Straight Talk On The T20 World Cup Selection Question: “Who Will Say No To…”

Mohammed Shami, the bowler for India, has shared his preparations for the forthcoming T20 World Cup in the United States and the West Indies. At the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in the United States on June 5, Team India will play their first tournament match against Ireland. Because of an ankle ailment, Shami hasn’t played since the ODI World Cup ended. The player was left out of the team for the first two Tests of the five-match series against England, as well as the just finished Test series against South Africa.

There have been rumors that Shami may play the last three Test matches. Shami believes that the next Indian Premier League (IPL) season would be crucial for him, however.

There’s a long way to go. An IPL is held prior to that. It is best to choose the player who is doing well for the T20 World Cup. It’s crucial to choose the team based on the lineup. If I’m doing well, I ought to be chosen. Who among us would refuse the World Cup?” Shami asked News 24.

India’s last white-ball match before the World Cup in June will be the current Twenty20 International series against Afghanistan.

Shami was rested for the three-match series, as were veteran pacers Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah. With the series finale taking place in Bengaluru later today, India leads 2-0.

Shami also discussed Hardik Pandya’s transfer from the Mumbai Indians to the Gujarat Titans.

“You see, it doesn’t matter who is leaving,” said Kisike Jane. The balance of the team must be observed. Hardik was present, and he led us well. We were able to win once after he led us to the final in both occasions. However, Gujarat has never signed Hardik before. He may choose to remain or go at this point. Now that Shubman is captain, he will get experience as well. He too may go one day. It’s also a component of the game. Participants arrive and depart.

“It’s critical that you manage the responsibility that comes with being captain while still attending to your performances. And Shubman has been given that task this time around. Though the players are essentially the same, he may be carrying some weight. Thus, he need not be concerned. In order to get the most out of your players, you must effectively manage them,” he said.
