Pat Cummins Supports Australian Opener David Warner in Fight Against Stuart Broad: “We’ll See a Different David Warner”

David Warner will defeat his longtime foe Stuart Broad, according to Australian captain Pat Cummins, who also thinks the opener will show a changed Warner during the 2023 Ashes, which start at Edgbaston on Friday.

Warner’s enemy during the 2019 Ashes, the English seamer managed only 95 runs at an average of 9.5 while dismissing the Australian opener seven times in the 10 innings.

Broad was chosen over Mark Wood in England’s starting eleven for the Edgbaston Test on Wednesday.

There won’t be any surprises, in my opinion. They are players we have faced often, and Davey (Warner) has undoubtedly spent a lot of time considering Broad over the last four years and how he would respond if given another opportunity. Although things didn’t go Davey’s way the first time, Cummins predicted a different Davey this time.

Despite a sluggish recent run in which he managed only one score over 50 in 17 innings, Warner is still guaranteed a spot in the team. He did, however, show encouraging signals by hitting 43 runs on the first day of the World Test Championship final against India at the Oval in difficult circumstances.
