RCB has never won an IPL championship: Michael Vaughan pinpoints the root cause of RCB’s ongoing malfunction

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s decline has been a recurring issue as they linger at the bottom of the 2024 season’s points standings. The Bengaluru-based team has not yet staged a comeback, and if they do, it would seem miraculous.

As RCB’s terrible IPL performance continues, the Faf du Plessis-led squad, which has cricketing greats like Glenn Maxwell and Virat Kohli, hasn’t been able to assist them. Michael Vaughan has shared his thoughts on the team’s subpar performance in the midst of the team’s instability.

Michael Vaughan provides commentary on the terrible IPL 2024 exhibition for RCB.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan talked out on the disorganised RCB team and provided insight into what went wrong for the group during his visit to The Raveer Show.

The RCB’s lack of success appeals to me because it shows that team sports are about more than just individuals. As the RCB squad has shown, you may go out and get the greatest individual stars and put them into a team, but it doesn’t guarantee success, “explained Vaughan.

The squad has recruited ABD Kohli, Maxwell, and other fantastic players, according to the former English cricket star. However, he doesn’t think RCB can be successful until all of the players are on the pitch, knowing their roles and how to differentiate amongst them. Vaughan suggests switching around a few players on the squad so that someone else may be successful in a different position.

Vaughan continued by saying that unless RCB can determine each player’s exact position, they will not be able to win the IPL.

They don’t seem to be attempting anything new. I simply see them believing—I know it’s probably incorrect, but once again, it’s a matter of perception—that they will win because this squad has excellent players, according to the management. It shows me that you may have excellent players, but you won’t win trophies until you understand the team culture and identity of each player to the letter,” Vaughan said.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad, who are scheduled to play against each other today at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, provide a formidable opponent for Faf du Plessis and company.
