See Jasprit Bumrah’s Class Act as he Ignores the Part in Translation Where Mohammed Siraj Congratulates Him

The Indian men’s cricket team’s 2024 campaign got off to a great start when they defeated South Africa by seven wickets in Cape Town to win their first Test match and level the two-match series 1-1.

India’s historic victory at the Newlands stadium was largely due to their pacers, as Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj combined for 15 wickets to help India win the match in only two days.

South Africa was bowled out for only 55 runs in the first innings, despite Siraj hitting a six-fer. In the second innings, Bumrah replicated the action by taking six wickets of his own.

Siraj took 6/15 from 9 overs in the first dig, and he was voted player of the match for his outstanding performance.

Bumrah conversed with the broadcasters alongside Siraj at the post-match presentation, the former acting as a translator for his colleague.

“Toh message milta hai ki kaun se wicket pe kaunsi line and length better hai, jass bhai humesha jo wo start karte hain. This message is very important and should not be ignored. Hard effort and perseverance are the keys to success. Siraj complimented Bumrah, saying, “Woh saamne end pe rahe toh bohot he achha hai.”

“I get an indication of the right line and length from how Jasprit Bumrah starts from his end,” is how it roughly translates. So all I have to do is follow Bumrah and success will come; I don’t even need to think about it. It is made simple by his presence at one end.

However, Bumrah omitted the section in which Siraj gave him credit for assisting him in determining the best line and lengths to bowl on a given pitch.

“So absolutely, because of our expertise, he understands the message sooner when we play along together. In order to communicate to the bowling circuit that this is the wicket and this is what we want to accomplish, we attempt to analyze the wicket more quickly. Thus, that occasionally assists him,” Bumrah said.
