Pragyan Ojha is anticipated to leave the BCCI AGM’s IPL Governing Council

Pragyan Ojha, a former spinner for India, is anticipated to resign from the IPL Governing Council at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Goa. IPL GC will undergo certain modifications, and a separate Governing Council for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will also be established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The WPL’s first season was a huge success, and the BCCI is anticipated to make significant modifications to the league as the home and away structure will be implemented starting with the next season.

There will be some changes to the IPL GC, according a report in Cricbuzz, as Ojha, a former India spinner, may decide to voluntarily resign from his role as players’ representative.

On September 25, the BCCI will have its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Goa, when a lot of significant decisions about the IPL and WPL may be made.

Ojha was selected by the Indian Cricketers’ Association (CA) to join the Governing Council in 2022 after serving on it for the previous three years.

According to the article, Ojha will resign, forcing the Indian Cricket Association to hold a new election to choose a replacement for him on the Governing Council.

In 2020, the left-arm spinner ended his career in cricket. He participated in 24 Tests, 18 ODIs, and 6 T20 International matches while playing for India in all three game types.

The report indicates that there is also a topic on the agenda for the meeting on September 25 titled “Election and induction of 2 (two) representatives of the General Body in the Governing Council of the IPL.”

Meanwhile, it is anticipated that Arun Singh Dhumal from the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and Avishek Dalmiya from the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) would both continue in their roles.
