“Should KL Rahul wish to participate in the T20 World Cup…,” a former cricket player advised the star hitter

NEW DELHI: For his Indian Premier League (IPL) team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), star wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul often bats first. However, former India opener Aakash Chopra said on Monday that the 31-year-old must bat at number four if he is to participate in the crucial T20 World Cup.

This year’s ICC T20 World Cup, which the United States and the West Indies will jointly host, is set to take place from June 4 to June 30.
“KL Rahul could be seen at number four. He’ll most likely have to bat at No. 4 (for LSG in the IPL) if he wants to participate in the World Cup. One of Prerak Mankad, Ayush Badoni, and Deepak Hooda might be playing at No. 3. To do the task, they have several choices at their disposal,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
“They (LSG) have Marcus Stoinis, Ayush Badoni, Nicholas Pooran, and Krunal Pandya down the order after No. 4. The batting now has a lot more depth to it. Thus, they have put together a very strong squad,” Chopra said.KL Rahul performed well at the Indian-hosted ODI World Cup last year.
The right-hander averaged 75.33 while playing in 11 games and scoring 452 runs. In the quadrennial event, he also earned two fifty and one hundred.
Rahul is now included in the India team for the England Test series, which consists of five matches.
The first Test match will take place at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on January 25.
