Smriti Irani congratulates the Indian women’s blind cricket team on their gold medal victory

Smriti Irani, the minister of women’s and children’s affairs, congratulated the Indian women’s blind cricket team for winning the gold medal in the Birmingham-hosted 2023 World Games of the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA).

In a stunning performance at the World Games on Saturday, the Indian women’s blind cricket team trounced Australia by nine wickets.

When the cricket players and representatives of the Cricket Association for Blind in India (CABI) came here on Monday, they were greeted with a resounding welcome.

The Indian women’s blind cricket team was welcomed by Smriti Irani as they arrived, and the Union Minister thanked them all for helping India win the gold medal.

“India’s daughters can leave a lasting impression on the international scene, as the Indian women’s blind cricket team has shown. On behalf of the country, let me congratulate each member of the squad. “These girls are the best brand ambassadors of Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has acknowledged the success of our winning team,” Smriti Irani said in a statement.

The head of the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), Dr. Mahantesh G. Kivadasannavar, expressed gratitude to Union Minister Smriti Irani for her kind act.

“I would want to give Smriti Irani, ma’am, a heartfelt thank you on behalf of Samarthanam and the Cricket Association for Blind in India (CABI), and particularly on behalf of the winning team. She is a wonderful inspiration to us, and I sincerely value what she did for us.

CABI Chairman Dr. Mahantesh G. Kivadasannavar stated, “Our ladies have incredible potential, and blessing from the Minister would work as a wonderful motivator. In whatever manner she can support us, we would be immensely grateful.

The Delhi High Court Bar Association issued a monetary incentive of Rs. 10 lakh to recognize the team for winning the gold in women’s blind cricket.

Later in the day, members of the Delhi High Court Bar Association greeted the women’s blind cricket team and CABI representatives. Shyam Sharma, the director of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), was present when the High Court Judges announced the monetary incentive of Rs 10 lakh.

Varsha, the winning team’s leader, was shocked by the news since it was their first official commitment. She was in awe of the judge family’s care and admiration.
