Virat Kohli’s Million-Dollar Post For Team India Coach Rahul Dravid: “We Played at Dominica in 2011”

A few days before the start of the first Test match against the West Indies, Virat Kohli wrote a moving tribute to Team India coach Rahul Dravid. As the Indian team prepares to play again, the Men in Blue have arrived in Dominica ahead of the two-match red-ball series that is set to begin on July 12.

In the previous task, Australia defeated the team captained by Rohit Sharma in the 2023 World Test Championship (WTC) final. Since then, the Indian players have had a month off before reuniting in Barbados for the West Indies trip, which includes a five-match T20I series as well as an ODI series with three matches.

It will be a busy schedule for the Indian squad beginning with the Caribbean trip, as the Asia Cup and ICC ODI World Cup are also scheduled to be contested later this year. Nevertheless, the players all seem to be in high spirits as they get ready to start the next WTC cycle 2023–25.

Prior to the first Test, Kohli and Dravid took a photo together, remembering their time playing together in 2011 at the same location that would host the forthcoming series opener.

Looking back on the trip since, Dravid is now the Men in Blue’s head coach, while Kohli led the Indian squad. The 34-year-old said he was “grateful” for how his life has come full circle.

“The only two men that took part in the 2011 Test match against Dominica. We never anticipated that the path would bring us back here in a variety of roles. Highly appreciative,” Virat said in the caption of the photo he shared with Dravid.

For the uninitiated, India played one T20I match, five ODIs, and three Test matches during their 2011 tour to the Caribbean islands. The third Test in Roseau, which ultimately resulted in a tie, had Kohli and Dravid on the field together. The Men in Blue went on to win the series, having won the first Test while the second game had also been drawn.
