China adopts facekinis as temperatures rise over 50 degrees

Global temperatures have significantly increased, with numerous nations experiencing record-high maximum temperatures. In China, a new fashion trend called “Facekinis” is becoming popular as a result of the country’s high mercury levels. Local media sources claim that temperatures in several regions of China reached above 52 degrees Celsius.

‘Facekinis’ are increasingly being worn in public spaces in China as the country experiences record-breaking heat every day. Pictures of individuals enjoying themselves on the beach while donning ‘facekinis’ to protect themselves from the sweltering sun are going viral. Instagram user ‘Pubity’ posted a picture with the description, “In scorching China, ‘facekinis’ are the hottest new fashion as temperatures shatter records.”

The “facekinis,” which resembled a longer swimming hat, are worn by the individuals in the pictures and completely conceal their faces. To allow the user to see and breathe, openings were made in the fabric’s eyes, nose, and mouth locations.

Since going viral, the post has received 345K likes and received a range of responses from internet users. While some thought the concept was cool, others associated the “facekinis” with robbery masks. As netizens crowded the comment area with their opinions on the masks, some of the remarks on the fad were amusing.

One person said, “Imagine thinking you’re being robbed and it’s just someone who’s too hot.” “Gang activity, the block is hot,” a different person added. Another person said, “I love that the comments are just a mess of people misinterpreting each other lmao.”

A user said, “Everyone in China is getting ready for the biggest bank heist in history.” “Spiderman costume redesigned,” someone further said. Another person said, “This is because they despise anything other than super fair skin… they try to stay pasty as possible.”
