Cricket fans get into a heated altercation at Arun Jaitley Stadium during India vs. Afghanistan

On October 11 at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, India defeated Afghanistan by an eight-wicket margin to continue their unbeaten record in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. With an incredible century, India’s captain Rohit Sharma stole the show and broke records as he led his team to 273 runs in only 35 overs. Notably, Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq’s highly publicized quarrel, which had erupted during IPL 2023, was settled by the two players directly during the game. There was more to the plot even though these were the game’s notable events. A violent argument broke out among several people in the stands, and a video of it rapidly went viral online.

A number of Indian supporters are seen in the video punching one other after an argument. It looked that numerous people wearing blue jerseys were attacking a fan wearing a red shirt. This developed into an argument that many people regarded as the pinnacle of Delhi moments. Although the exact reason for this confrontation is yet unknown, there are many theories circulating on social media.

Some assume that it could have happened because a supporter mistakenly sang Naveen-ul-Haq’s name for Kohli, while others think it might be connected to animosity between Kohli and Rohit’s fan camps. However, at the time this article was being written, there was no verified information; these were only conjectures.

The video has amused internet users, who describe to it as “the most Delhi moment ever,” recognizing Delhi’s reputation for its feisty and passionate citizens who are not afraid to cause a sensation over apparently little topics.

The visiting team won the toss and decided to bat first in the actual game. Afghanistan’s captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi, stood up as the team’s best player, getting 80 points from 88 balls. Senior fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah had a standout outing for India, taking four wickets.
