For all the wrong reasons, this woman’s attempt at mehndi makeup is making waves

When you search for “makeup tutorial” on Instagram, you’ll get over 53 million results. On social media, it’s improbable that a day passes without a fresh cosmetics fad developing. Dark, nude eyes appear one day, and the reverse appears the next. Sometimes Korean beauty secrets are the focus, while other times the makeup on Italian beauties looks fantastic. Some rescuers emerge with tricks to achieve these appearances, thanks to these never-ending fads. Not every video, however, becomes popular enough to be included on the rejected list. That’s exactly what happened with the latest Mehndi beauty trick.

The video, which was uploaded to Instagram, begins with a lady applying mehndi (henna) to her eyelids. She goes on to apply it to her lips and eyebrows. Perhaps in an attempt to mimic freckles, she even applies tiny dots to each cheek.

When the mehndi dries, she removes it with a piece of cloth. She didn’t get the semi-permanent makeup effect she was hoping for; instead, she seemed like a child who had been given a cone of mehndi and told to “have at it.”

Naturally, the internet was not happy either. On the social networking site, the video has over a million views. With every new remark, the laughter in the comments area grew.

“Iss se acha toh make-up hi naa karti,” a user said. It was better to forgo makeup entirely.

“Abhi bhi time hai behen, karde delete,” said another person. (You still have time, sister. Remove this.

“Ye toh mujhse bhi zyada delulu hai,” said a further user (she is considerably more crazy than I).

“Is it really that bad? Blush? Then, what shall we put on our hands? Blush?” another person said.

Makeup should highlight your inherent beauty rather than drastically changing your appearance. A toddler in a previously popular video couldn’t recognize her mother after she had dressed up for a special event. It shows the mother working very hard to convince her child that she is, in fact, his mother. The toddler refused to believe it and tried to run away from the mother, who kept laughing and saying, “Mein hi mummy hu (I am your mother),” but she persisted.

A second lady attempts to explain the same thing to the youngster later in the video. She attempts to convince him, giving him a big embrace, but he says no.
