IKEA Bengaluru Was Ordered To Pay A Woman Rs. 3,000 As Compensation For ‘Unfair Trade’ Regarding A Carry Bag Worth Rs.

The cost of such carry bags never justifies the means, regardless of how costly one’s goods may be. But other than accepting it, what other option is there? Well, a lot, and that’s just what this lady from Bengaluru accomplished. Sangeetha Bohra reportedly spent Rs 2,428 on merchandise at IKEA Bengaluru, but she was only asked to pay Rs 20 for the carry bag. Bohra, in contrast to the others, refused to back down and instead chose to object to the cost of a carryback bearing the brand’s name. Bohra apparently got into a heated disagreement with the shop employees over the issue, but in the end, she was forced to pay for the carry bag. Nevertheless, the event persisted after it happened in October because the client chose to pursue it further.

Bohra promptly served the shop with a legal notice, but that action was also ineffective since the business allegedly did not provide her any money. In March 2023, she allegedly finally filed a complaint with Bengaluru Urban’s consumer complaints redressal commission. After a few months of litigation, the Court rendered its decision in October of this year. After ruling in the woman’s favor, the court reportedly ordered IKEA to pay Bohra Rs. 3000 in compensation in addition to returning Rs. 20 to her.

IKEA in Bengaluru is not new to customer problems; some time ago, the shop experienced significant humiliation and outrage after a woman’s post about a dead rat dropping on her table from the roof of the store went viral online. The shop subsequently expressed regret.
