“Sadda Haq”: A popular meme imagines Taylor Swift singing Bollywood hits

With Taylor Swift’s songs serving as the soundtrack, her fan base on India’s busy streets is akin to a covert society of music enthusiasts. They discover snippets of their own experiences in her words, making them more than simply admirers. The vibrant celebration of love, heartache, and everything in between that Swifties in India bring to her music ranges from the upbeat rhythms of “Shake It Off” to the heartbreaking ballads like “All Too Well.” Desi fans thus continued to have fun when an ‘X’ account invited people to guess what the singer was singing in a widely shared image.

This image captures Swift live on stage at La Defense on May 9, 2024, during “The Eras Tour” in Paris, France. Jon(athan) D. Howard, a user of ‘X,’ posted it with the comment, “What is Taylor Swift singing? Only incorrect responses.

Then the Indians’ wild imaginations took control! Indians adapted the viral trend into a dream sequence in which she sang Indian tunes, ranging from “Sadda Haq” and “Nadaan Parinde” by Mohit Chauhan to “Bhaag D K Bose” and other songs.

It doesn’t seem that she resembles Jordan.

“Pukaar Bulleya Sunlee.”

And the rapper, too!

Taking her into account for “Aashiqui 3?”

And the ideas just kept coming…

It’s evident that Swift is creating an irrepressible buzz in India. The artwork from her most recent studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” was recently displayed on BEST (Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport Undertaking) buses, much to the delight of Mumbai fans.

Her fandom really doesn’t stop, doesn’t it?
