Scientists are baffled by the origins of the 200-year-old Himalayan towers in China

The Stone Star Shaped Towers, sometimes referred to as the Himalayan Towers in Western Sichuan province, are enigmatic marvels of human civilization. These towers, which may reach a height of 200 feet, are widely distributed between Central China and Kham, the Tibetan Autonomous Region. Their presence, which is mysterious in terms of their origin and purpose, has gone viral and captivated the attention of internet users all around the globe.

The hundreds of these eye-catching towers scattered over the area have left the locals equally confused about their origins. The mystery surrounding their function is heightened by the towers’ pictures, which draw a lot of interest and wonder.

Amusing Planet said that during her 1998 tour to Tibet, French explorer Frederique Darragon brought these structures to the notice of the outside world. She had originally intended to study snow leopards, but when she saw these enormous buildings, she changed her mind. Darragon painstakingly mapped, photographed, and even climbed the towers during a five-year period in order to gather wood samples for examination. She asked a number of locals questions, but she was unable to learn anything about the towers’ history or intended use. There are theories that the towers were originally built to guard the city, but concrete proof is still hard to come by.

Darragon also looked for literary allusions to the towers in nearby Buddhist temples throughout her investigation, but she was unable to locate anything. She came to the conclusion that these towers’ history may have been handed down orally throughout the years but was now lost or forgotten.

The towers remain mysterious even though Darragon found a few allusions to them in the journals of 19th-century European explorers and Chinese chronicles. Bricks, mortar, wood, and cut stones are used in the construction of the towers, which come in a variety of designs including square, polygonal, and star. Interestingly, it is thought that they can withstand seismic shocks. There are towers that are 60 to 200 feet high.

The mysterious Himalayan Towers loom over the landscape, calling scientists and adventurers to discover the mysteries enshrouded in their age-old rock.
