Unbelievably, a viral video shows rats at the IRCTC stall eating open food

Rats were seen feasting on food from a booth at the Itarsi Junction railway station in Madhya Pradesh in a startling occurrence that raised questions about the hygienic conditions and security of the food provided to train passengers. The issue was made public after a video of the bothersome rodents casually browsing through snack-filled plates and ground-level containers at the IRCTC stand went viral online.

People have expressed their dismay at the lack of sanitary management at train station food vendors in response to the viral film, which was uploaded by Saurabh, a self-described rail lover and Train wale bhaiya. The video shows the rats presumably examining the meal while no people are around, raising concerns about the edibles’ safety and quality.

After posting the disturbing video, Saurabh asked viewers to confirm that food purchased from train station vendors complies with all safety regulations. He cautioned that he himself stays away from dining at these kinds of restaurants. “Rats on IRCTC food Inspection Duty” was the amusing description that accompanied the video when it was posted.

In response to the widely shared video, railway officials acted swiftly. Users were reassured on Sunday by the Railway Seva account that the situation is being looked into and that the West Central Railway’s Bhopal Division would take the appropriate steps. In response, the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the aforementioned division said that the “matter is being notified to concerned officials” in order to guarantee that the problem is resolved as soon as possible.

This is just one more case in a string of cases where rats have gotten into food products. There’s been a lot of attention lately to a video showing a guy making puris. The person can be seen in the video preparing puris in a pan that is set on the ground, using a dirty method of cooking. A change in camera position exposes the disconcerting presence of big rats walking about freely, despite his intense focus on his assignment. One rat is even seen crossing the container holding the flour required to make puris, which heightens worries.

The commentary for this video, which was first shared on X (previously known as Twitter), is a strong warning to always check the local food distribution system or the kitchen at weddings. Don’t allow it to become a regular occurrence. This is concerning.
