Vijay Mallya Is Back On Social Media With Dussehra Greetings. Another X post about the bank holiday sets off a meme fest

One needs to be’special’ enough to start a meme frenzy on social media all by themselves based on only one X (previously Twitter) post, which is essentially a holiday greeting. Yes, one of the most’special’—or, to put it more accurately, ‘wanted’—fugitive businesspeople from India reappeared on social media, sending the internet into a frenzy. Since leaving India, fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya has become well-known not just for defrauding the largest Indian banks but also for his infrequent X postings. This is because, in contrast to other users, Mallya uses his X handle mostly or exclusively during festivals that fall on bank holidays. Adequately ironic? Whatever your opinion, internet users clearly see this as a chance to address the issue with some of the funniest memes. And that’s precisely what occurred today, October 24, the day the nation celebrates the well praised Dussehra celebration. Having said that, Mallya’s Dussehra wishes quickly gained widespread attention on social media as soon as they were posted, inspiring a variety of meme-like responses.

Before 2012, Mallya—also known as India’s “King of Good Times”—was a well-known figure and a brand unto itself, having made a number of significant investments. However, things started to deteriorate in 2012 when the government stopped his airline. As a result of his inability to repay his debts, he fled the nation in 2016 and quickly became into a wanted person.

The fugitive’s official account on the social networking platform X (previously Twitter) posted the X post. It said, “Happy Dusshera to all.”

People responded to the X post with a variety of responses in the comment box, the most of which were amusing memes. Many made jokes about how the bank holiday prevented the banks from doing anything, while others called Mallya’s playful jab at all the banks amusing. According to a user, “He only tweets on bank holidays. Jab bhi bank ki chhutti hoti hai…” Another user made a joke, “Sir, please tweet on days when the bank is open (Kbhi bank working days pe bhi tweet kar liya kro)”. Another added, “Mallya come to India.” Vijay Mallya would act like- A fourth person said, “I wanted to pay today, but it’s a bank holiday. Aaj payment karne ka irada tha par bank holiday hai.” On the X post, several people also contributed memes.
