A youngster from Delhi perishes in the Jogindernagar stream

Yesterday, a young man from New Delhi, age 28, perished in the Machhayal water stream in the Jogindernagar subdivision of the Mandi district, close to Senthal. He was recognized as a New Delhi inhabitant, Balwant, also known as Bunty.

He and his four buddies had gone to have a dip in the water stream when he unexpectedly dove into it to save his two companions from drowning. Balwant perished, even though his two buddies were able to rescue themselves.

As soon as word spread about the event, people rushed to the scene, according to the police, and helped the young guy out of the deep water. Despite every attempt to rescue him, he passed away. When the police arrived, they drove Balwant to the hospital in an ambulance, but the attending physician pronounced him dead.

The deceased had been to Jogindernagar to visit a buddy; he was a professional musician. His family has been notified of his passing by the police. Following a post-mortem examination, the deceased was given to the grieving family.
