The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Tiago are the safest vehicles and SUVs under Rs 10 lakh

For many Indian car shoppers, especially those looking for family cars, purchasing a safe vehicle is of utmost importance. Depending on pedestrian safety features, safe automobiles provide passengers with more protection and peace of mind. They may also, in some situations, lessen the chance of collisions with other vehicles. Since the government started requiring standard safety features and consumers realized how important safe cars are, the Indian auto sector has likewise made tremendous progress in terms of safety in recent years.

The ‘Safer Cars for India’ campaign by Global NCAP has played a significant role in increasing awareness among consumers and manufacturers. Let’s check out the safest automobiles and SUVs under Rs 10 lakh, according to GNCAP, in this article.
1. Punch by Tata
The Tata Punch, which starts at Rs 6.1 lakh (ex-showroom), is the first car on the list. Tata Motors has made sure that safety regulations are met even by this little SUV. In the adult protection category, the Tata Punch received a 5-star rating, achieving an amazing 16.45 out of a possible 17. The car also performed well in the domain of child safety, with a 4-star rating of 40.89 out of a possible 49 points.

Dual airbags, ABS, EBD, brake sway control, low-traction mode, high-speed warning, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and seatbelt reminders are among the Tata Punch’s safety features.
2. The Tata Nexon’s makeover
The Tata Nexon facelift, which starts at Rs 8.15 lakh (ex-showroom), comes in second on the list. For adult and kid occupancy safety, the new Tata Nexon facelift scored 32.22 out of 34 and 44.52 out of 49 marks, respectively. According to GNCAP, the Nexon facelift provided excellent head and neck protection in a frontal accident. The knees demonstrated decent protection, whereas the chests of the driver and passenger exhibited sufficient protection. The body’s heel was certified stable and able to bear additional loadings, as did the footwell region.

Dummies that were 3 years old and 18 months old were positioned for kid occupancy safety. According to GNCAP, the Nexon offered complete side impact protection and almost complete front impact protection in its testing.
3. Altroz Tata
The Tata Altroz hatchback, which starts at Rs 6.7 lakh (ex-showroom), is another model on the list. In the adult protection category, the Tata Altroz received a 5-star rating, achieving an excellent 16.13 out of a possible 17. With just three ratings (29/49) for child occupant safety, the Altroz did not do as well. Two airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a rear camera, seat-belt alerts for the front seats, and Isofix child seat fixings are among the safety features.

4. The Mahindra XUV 300
The Mahindra XUV 300 is listed next. With 16.42 out of a possible 17 points, the SUV received a 5-star crash test rating for adult occupant safety. In the meantime, with a score of 37.44/49, the kid occupant protection received a 4-star rating. Mahindra will shortly introduce the XUV 3XO, a facelifted version of the XUV 300. Although the new 3XO will have greater dynamics, more features, and a different look, it will still be built on the same platform, so we anticipate that its crash test results will be comparable.

5. Kiger and Renault Triber
The next pair of vehicles on the list are the Ex-showroom pricing of the Renault Triber MPV, which starts at Rs 6 lakh, and the Kiger SUV, which starts at Rs 6.5 lakh. Global NCAP has awarded the Triber MPV a 4-star safety rating for adult occupant safety and a 3-star grade for child occupant safety. For adult occupant safety, the Kiger has received four stars, and for kid occupant protection, it has received two stars apiece.

6. Magnite Nissan
The Nissan Magnite SUV, which starts at Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom), is the next item on the list. Although the Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite share the same platform, the Kiger performed marginally better in the child occupant safety test and slightly better in the adult occupant protection test. In the adult occupant protection test, the Magnite scored 11.85 out of a potential 17, earning a 4-star rating. It scored 24.88 out of 49 points, or a 2-star rating, in the child occupant safety test.

7. Hyundai Exter and Grand i10 Nios
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Hyundai Exter are the next pair of vehicles on the list.
