Bihar: An argument about idol immersion sparks hostilities between two clans in Darbhanga

When stones were thrown at a procession on Friday that was on way to submerge the Goddess Saraswati statue at the Bahera market in Darbhanga, a fight broke out between two groups, according to authorities.

Senior authorities, the SSP, and the Darbhanga District Magistrate arrived on the scene and brought the situation under control.

“A fight broke out between two communities during idol immersion under Bahera Police Station. Darbhanga District Manager Rajeev Raushan informed reporters that “the officials arrived at the stop and took the situation under control.”

According to Darbhanga DM, the individuals implicated are being identified.

Stones were being thrown between the two villages. As of as today, no injuries have been reported. He continued, “There have been some people detained.”

According to authorities, fighting between two groups in Darbhanga, Bihar, earlier on Thursday, was sparked by the idol immersion controversy.

The tragedy happened in the Darbhanga district’s Muria village.

“During the immersion of a monument in Muriya Panchayat, a fight broke out between two groups. We conducted discussions with both sides, and the immersion’s necessary work has been finished. when to turn the idols on the road was when the argument started. Stones have been thrown… A few houses’ outbuildings have been demolished. Minor injuries have occurred,” he continued.
