Bihar: Following heavy rain, Many Low-lying Areas Are Flooded

Several low-lying parts of Bihar saw a flood-like condition on Friday as a result of torrential rain and waterlogging, according to authorities.

According to them, water accumulated in several locations across the Araria, Purnea, Madhepura, Saharsa, Jamui, Katihar, and Banka districts as a result of significant rains.

According to statistics from the Met Department, the state’s capital Patna got 53.45 mm of rain in the 24 hours leading up to 8:30 am, while Raniganj recorded 90.8 mm, Purnea (77.5 mm), Madhepura (75 mm), Sharsha (68.8 mm), Jamui (67.3 mm), Purnea (67 mm), Katihar (64.5 mm), and Banka (56 mm) reported rainfall.

Light to moderate thunderstorms and rain have been reported in the following districts: Arwal, Bhojpur, Buxar, Gaya, Jamui, Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, Nawada, Patna, Rohtas, Saran, and Vaishali.

Despite the fact that it has rained heavily for the last two days, the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) said that rainwater was evacuated as quickly as feasible.

The authorities noted that actions are being taken to remove water from other low-lying regions of the state.
