Bihar: NDRF sent, rescue operations underway for a 4-year-old trapped in a 150-foot borewell in Nalanda

In response to a four-year-old kid falling down a 150-foot deep borewell in the Kul village in Bihar’s Nalanda, teams from the National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force have been sent from Patna to assist in rescue efforts, according to District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankar.

The youngster from Mahadalit Tola, Doma Manjhi, was playing close to the borewell when he fell into. The local government quickly responded to the notice, arrived on the spot, and started the process of deploying a JCB machine to rescue the youngster.

The youngster is visually proven to be alive, and JCB equipment are being used to administer oxygen and remove the child from the hole.

The government is presently concentrating on carefully excavating the dirt to guarantee the child’s safe return. According to reports, there are police and district administration representatives on the scene.

“We learned that a toddler had fallen into a borewell… We are making every effort to save the youngster. The rescue squad and NDRF will arrive at the scene. We can still hear the child’s voice, and he is still alive, stated Silwa, Shambhu Mandal’s Circle Officer.

Vice President of Nagar Panchayat Nalanda Nalin Maurya is assisting in the rescue effort. He told ANI, “This farmer here created this borewell for drilling. However, since they were unsuccessful here, they tried again somewhere else, and this borewell remained still open.

After almost 52 hours of rescue operations, a toddler died last month after falling down a 300-foot borewell in the Sehore area of Madhya Pradesh. The child was initially trapped at around 40 feet, but because to vibrations from the rescue attempt, she slid down to nearly 100 feet, making the mission more difficult.

Later, she fell another about 135 feet. She was tragically pronounced dead at the hospital. Her health deteriorated during the rescue operation despite the joint efforts of the NDRF, SDERF, and an Army unit. She was also being saved by a group of robotics professionals, but regrettably, she did not make it.
