Bridge caverns in Kishanganj, Bihar
In the same region of Bihar as the Aguwani Ghat Khagaria bridge collapse, a section of another bridge has fallen in.
The bridge linking the districts of Katihar and Kishanganj was built across the Mechi River close to the hamlet of Gori on NH 327E.
GR infra Limited was the company responsible for building the bridge. Following the degradation of the pillars, six spans have sunk.
The district administration has halted traffic on this bridge after its collapse.
To stop drivers from using the bridge, police officers have been stationed on both sides.
Earlier, on June 4, a bridge that was still being built in the Bihar region of Khagaria collapsed, drawing harsh criticism against the state’s administration.
The case is now in court, and SP Singla, the firm that built the Khagaria Bridge, is being pressured by the state government.
