In the last 48 hours, heat stroke has claimed 9 lives in Bihar

Nine people in Bihar have died from heat stroke in the last 48 hours, according to the state’s Disaster Management department (DMD) on Tuesday. Five casualties were recorded in Bhojpur, three in Arwal, and one in Jehanabad in the last 48 hours, according to a DMD statement.

Over 22 fatalities that had been ascribed to heat stroke have been proven to be caused by other circumstances, according to Bihar Disaster Management Minister Shahnawaz, who spoke to PTI. Light rain, which fell in a few locations around the state, providing some respite from the oppressive heat while also lowering the maximum temperature by two to three degrees Celsius.

The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Aurangabad district at 42.1 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), which also noted that Patna reached a maximum of 40.5 degrees. On June 17, the temperature had risen to 45 degrees Celsius.
