Nitish Kumar refutes claims of irregularities in the hiring of teachers in Bihar

On Wednesday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar refuted claims that there were anomalies in the hiring process of over a lakh teachers in the state, who are expected to get appointment letters on Thursday.

At a lavish event this evening, Kumar, who will personally deliver employment letters to hundreds of applicants, also said that critics were carrying out “instructions from above.”

“We have a huge day tomorrow. The people who are criticizing me have never had difficulties before coming to me. According to orders from above, they are now looking for holes,” he told reporters on Wednesday.

As he answered questions about the BJP, which he left a year ago, and former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, with whom he severed ties earlier this year, the JD(U) leader called the hiring of 1.20 lakh teachers a “scam”.

The opposition leaders have been claiming that the Mahagathbandhan government’s claims of creating jobs were inflated by the appearance of numerous contractual teachers as new hires and the exchange of money during the selection process.

In an interview with reporters, Kumar announced electricity projects valued at about Rs 14,000 crore at an event.

During his address, Kumar expressed his displeasure at the media’s unfavorable portrayal of his government and lamented that the Center was given credit for a lot of his achievements.

But Kumar made it plain in his conversations with reporters that he was “not at all angry with the press but unhappy over its muzzleing.”

In the Lok Sabha elections of the following year, the JD(U) supremo, who has sworn to unseat the BJP, continued, saying that “all of you will be able to practice your profession freely and independently once the current dispensation is sent packing.”

However, until that time, kindly make an effort to inform people about the excellent job that our administration is doing. The longest-serving chief minister of Bihar, who was instrumental in the establishment of the INDIA coalition, said, “You can use social media even though it may not be possible to do so formally.”
