Of the 11 Elected, Rabri and Nitish Were Not Opposed to the Bihar Legislative Council

On Thursday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was proclaimed elected to the state legislative council without facing any opposition for a fourth term in a row. In addition to Kumar, ten other candidates from other parties who had run for 11 legislative council seats in the biennial elections were proclaimed elected without facing any opposition by the deadline for withdrawing nomination papers.

Accompanied by close aide Rajiv Ranjan Singh Lalan, whom he replaced as JD (U) president, and Deputy CMs Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, both from the BJP, Kumar arrived at the Vidhan Sabha headquarters to pick up his certificate.

Former chief minister Rabri Devi (RJD), state minister Santosh Suman (HAM), and former minister Mangal Pandey (BJP) are among the other individuals who were elected to the Upper House.
