On suspicion of transporting beef, a mob in Bihar’s Saran District brutally lynched a 55-year-old truck driver

On suspicion of carrying beef, a mob savagely killed a 55-year-old truck driver named Mohammed Zahiruddin in Bihar’s Saran district. Due to mechanical difficulties, Zahiruddin had to stop his vehicle late on Wednesday night close to the hamlet of Khori Pakar when the event took place.

The people encircled him while he sought help from a mechanic and suspected the truck was carrying meat due to the strong odour coming from it. Without giving Zahiruddin a chance to explain, they launched a brutal attack. Khurshid Ali, one of his assistants, was able to flee.

According to Indian Express, Zahiruddin was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was unfortunately declared dead after allegedly suffering deadly inside injuries.

According to Saran Superintendent of Police Gaurav Mangla, Zahiruddin, a native of Majhwalia hamlet, was doing a usual task: carrying animal bones to an authorised Marhaura factory that used them for medicinal reasons. The police came to the scene quickly and detained seven lynching participants.
