RJD Refers To Bihar Parties’ Acceptance Of Karpoori Thakur’s “Bharat Ratna” As “A BJP Poll Gimmick”

The government’s choice to award former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur the Bharat Ratna posthumously has been greeted with applause by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Nitish Kumar, the president of Janata Dal-United and the chief minister of Bihar, also praised the action, describing it as a wise choice made by the Center. RJD, a party of JD-U, has referred to the action as a “political gimmick” by the BJP. “Late Karpoori Thakur ji, my intellectual and political mentor, ought to have been awarded the Bharat Ratna a long time ago. We took our voice from the House to the streets, but when the current Bihar administration of social concern performed the caste census and expanded the scope of quota for the benefit of Bahujans, the Central administration became aware of our concerns. Politics will need to address Dalit Bahujan’s issues, as the fear suggests,” RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav said on X.

Move Is Hailing the Family
The government said on Tuesday night that Karpoori Thakur will get the posthumous Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor. Families of the late Bihar chief minister distributed candies after the announcement in honor of the upcoming Bharat Ratna award. Ram Nath Thakur, the son of Karpoori Thakur and a JD(U) MP, said he didn’t see it from the political perspective shortly after the government announced that Karpoori Thakur will get the Bharat Ratna posthumously.

“On behalf of my party, the people of Bihar, and myself, I would like to express my gratitude to the Central government. Not from a political standpoint, in my opinion. Tomorrow is Karpoori Thakur’s 100th birthday, therefore maybe the Central Government made this choice with that in mind,” Thakur said.

LJP Thanks PM for His Assistance
Chirag Paswan, the head of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), concurrently expressed thanks to the Prime Minister and the Government.

“I am grateful to the Prime Minister and the Government of India. The people of Bihar, as well as the whole nation, have long demanded Bharat Ratna for Karpoori Thakur. The PM complied with the public’s desire today,” Paswan said.

BJP Crises Action
According to Bihar LoP and BJP MLA Vijay Kumar Sinha, the PM has honored all Biharis by presenting the Bharat Ratna to ‘Jannayak’ Karpoori Thakur. “Earlier, we had also stated the PM’s demand. He had said that this will be given careful thought the previous year. By presenting the Bharat Ratna to ‘Jannayak’ Karpoori Thakur, the Prime Minister has paid tribute to all Biharis. Since this is an honor for the whole state, everyone of Bihar is thanking the PM,” Sinha said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s move, according to Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras, is “historic.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a momentous choice. For making this choice, the people of Bihar and the whole nation are grateful to him.The PM made a momentous choice. He would thereafter be regarded as the Dalit and backward people’s messiah, according to Paras.

Furthermore, Thakur was such an honest leader that the topic is still addressed, according to BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad. “He made a connection between the underprivileged, the backward, and the mainstream…I thank the Prime Minister for bestowing upon him the Bharat Ratna. This is a celebration of the voice and poverty of the underprivileged…Many of the past administrations had a narrow focus on their own community. A few of them had just their own families on their minds. The Narendra Modi government is considering the whole nation, according to Prasad.

He went on to say that Karpoori Thakur’s Bharat Ratna is a recognition to the nation’s underprivileged and backward citizens. “I would like to thank you for this much anticipated decision. Giving Karpoori Thakur the Bharat Ratna is a tribute to the nation’s underprivileged and backward citizens, he said.

On behalf of the people of Bihar as a whole, BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister. “The news is positive for Bihar.I’m grateful to the federal government; the people of Bihar demanded this, therefore he deserves it.The son of a poor guy became prime minister, fulfilling this. On behalf of the people of Bihar as a whole, let me thank PM Modi. The true leader of Bihar was Karpoori Thakur, who accomplished a great deal for the state, according to Hussain.

Union Minister Nityanand Rai thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that Karpoori Thakur devoted his whole life to helping the underprivileged. “First and foremost, I want to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Karpoori Thakur devoted his whole life to helping the underprivileged and impoverished. Those who engage in politics in his honor have never considered him; they have just acted in his honor. Karpoori Thakur was not given the title when parties partnered with the Congress to form the government, Rai added.

According to BJP MP Sushil Modi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accomplished a historic feat that no previous PM has been able to match. “No previous prime minister has been able to do the monumental task that Narendra Modi has done. Narendra Modi, the son of an OBC, awarded the Bharat Ratna to an OBC activist. When they were Union Ministers, Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav used to seek the Bharat Ratna, so why couldn’t they do it then? Karpoori Thakur’s aspirations are being realized by Narendra Modi, according to Sushil Modi.

Samrat Choudhary, the leader of the Bihar BJP, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and described it as a historic move. “This choice is historic. Regards from the Prime Minister. PM Modi’s administration has raised Bihar’s national pride by awarding the Bharat Ratna to independence fighter and former chief minister Karpoori Thakur, Choudhary added. “Today, the government of Narendra Modi has improved Bihar’s standing. I express my gratitude on behalf of the people of Bihar for bestowing the Bharat Ratna upon the independence warrior and former chief minister, ‘Gudri Ke Laal’, Karpoori Thakur.PM Modi promises to fulfill everyone’s ambitions, including those of Ram Vilas, Lalu Yadav, Nitish Kumar, and the Congress Party. Everyone’s hopes can only be fulfilled by PM Modi,” he said.

Says RLJD: Historic Choice
According to RLJD Chief Upendra Kushwaha, it is a historic time for everyone involved and for those who stood out for the underprivileged and downtrodden. “This is a historic time for those of us who have battled for the underprivileged and underdeveloped. We appreciate PM Modi making this choice. We have been requesting this for a long time, and Karpoori Thakur deserves it, but the Indian government has not listened to us. But PM Modi has carried it out,” Kushwaha said.

The deputy chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Harivansh, said that Jannayak Karpoori Thakur, who had become a role model for others by his honesty and simplicity, deserved this honor.

A Political Trick or a Historic Decision?
Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, lauded the Centre, while the RJD, his state’s coalition partner, said it was done to win votes.
Mrityunjay Tiwari of the RJD said that Karpoori Thakur was verbally abused by the BJP when he was alive and that they had forgotten about him for nine years.

“The Central Government chose to give Karpoori Thakur the Bharat Ratna. He was being verbally abused by the BJP while he was alive, and they had forgotten about him for nine years. Lalu Yadav, the head of our party, has been seeking Bharat Ratna for himself on a constant basis. In honor of Karpoori Thakur, who received the Bharat Ratna, they are commemorating him as the elections draw closer. For votes, they are keeping him in mind,” Tiwari said.

Ratna Bharat Honoring Thakur’s Social Justice Movement
The Bharat Ratna is celebrated as a monument of Karpoori Thakur’s unwavering fight for social justice, even outside of political debate. Known as ‘Jan Nayak,’ he makes a point of elevating the less fortunate segments of society. Thakur’s significant contributions to Indian politics, which were characterized by a committed battle against social injustice and prejudice, are honored by this award.

The Legacy Of Janata Dal Leader: An Embrace Of The Marginalized Throughout Life
The legacy of Karpoori Thakur transcends political boundaries.
