We Must Be Alert And Ready For Potentially Early Lok Sabha Elections: CM of Bihar Nitish Kumar

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar and a prominent member of the anti-BJP group, said on Friday that the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 are likely to be moved early and urged the opposition parties to be prepared.

Kumar expressed confidence that the newly formed opposition coalition would beat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) whenever elections are called during a news conference held after the two-day summit of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) in Mumbai.

The BJP seeks to alter national history. Our goal is to improve the nation and guarantee the wellbeing of all societal groups. We are advancing quickly. We must be vigilant since Lok Sabha elections might be scheduled early, according to the JD(U) leader.

The potential for early parliamentary elections—which would typically take place in April or May 2024—was raised at the discussion, according to Kumar.

“People in the Center will now need to leave, according to the discussion at the meeting. The Bihar Chief Minister, criticizing the BJP, said, “We will stand united and refuse to let history be rewritten.

Following the Center’s creation of a commission to examine the viability of “one nation, one election,” which drew criticism from opposition leaders who said that such a system would endanger the nation’s federal framework, Kumar made his remarks about early voting.

The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), which held its two-day conclave in Mumbai on Thursday and Friday, allegedly ruffled the ruling BJP’s feathers and prompted the establishment of the committee led by former president Ram Nath Kovind to investigate the possibility of holding both assembly and presidential elections at the same time.

Earlier, Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, referred to the government’s conduct as a “diversion and distraction”.
