According to a research, “women in tech workforce in global capability centers likely to go up to 35% by 2027.”

By 2027, it is expected that the percentage of women working in technology at global capability centers (GCCs) would rise from 25% to 35%. Furthermore, according to a recent estimate from TeamLease Digital, by FY25, over 40% of women should be employed in tech and non-tech related professions in the BFSI, industrial, consumer, and retail sectors.

Additionally, it states that there will be an average 9% increase in the number of women in tech jobs in non-tech businesses. According to the survey, women’s involvement in the IT workforce at all levels is expected to increase by 24.3% by 2027.

Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra are expected to be the recruiting hubs for women in the next months. Talent will also be engaged in Pune, Chennai, Nashik, Coimbatore, Kochi, Aurangabad, and Vadodara, among other places. Currently, 43% of all hired female workers are in Tamil Nadu, particularly in the industrial sector.

“With only 0.5% of the total female workforce engaged in tech roles in non-tech sectors, there is a pressing need to amplify female participation in this domain,” said Neeti Sharma, CEO of TeamLease Digital.

Additionally, the IT industry is placing a greater emphasis on hiring women, with 43% of women worldwide participating in STEM fields. Sharma said, “Empowering women in the tech sector not only drives innovation through diversity but also enriches the industry with unique perspectives, talents, and experiences.”
