First Phase of the April 19th Lok Sabha Election Bank Holidays: On April 19, banks will not be open. This is because the Lok Sabha Election of 2024 will take place on Friday. The poll results will be released on June 4 in accordance with the election timetable. Based on the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday schedule for 2024, banks in the corresponding cities will be closed on election days. In addition, a few states have already designated voting days as paid or public holidays.

Phase-by-Phase Schedule for the 2024 Lok Sabha Election
The polling will take place in seven stages, according to the EC’s announcement: the first will take place on April 19, the second on April 26, the third on May 7, the fourth on May 13, the fifth on May 20, the sixth on May 25, and the seventh on June 1.

First Phase: April 19; Second Phase: April 26; Third Phase: May 7; Fourth Phase: May 13; Fifth Phase: May 20; Sixth Phase: May 25; and Seventh Phase: June 1.

The following states will host elections in the first phase:

Andaman and Nicobar Islands (one seat in the Lok Sabha)
Assam (5 Lok Sabha Seats) and Arunachal Pradesh (2 Lok Sabha Seats)
Bihar (3 Seats in Lok Sabha)
Chhattisgarh: 1 seat in the Lok Sabha
Jammu & Kashmir: One seat in the Lok Sabha
(1) Lok Sabha Seat for Lakshadweep
Madhya Pradesh: Six seats in the Lok Sabha
Maharashtra (6) six seats in the Lok Sabha
Manipur: 2 seats in the Lok Sabha
Meghalaya: 2 seats in the Lok Sabha
Mizoram: 1 seat in the Lok Sabha
Nagaland: 1 seat in the Lok Sabha
Puducherry: 1 seat in the Lok Sabha
Rajasthan: 12 seats in the Lok Sabha
Tamil Nadu (39 Lok Sabha Seats) and Sikkim (1 Lok Sabha Seat)
Tripura: 1 seat in the Lok Sabha
Uttar Pradesh: 8 seats in the Lok Sabha
Kerala (5 seats in the Lok Sabha)
West Bengal (3 seats in the Lok Sabha)

On April 19, banks will be closed in Chennai, Dehradun, Itanagar, Jaipur, Kohima, Nagpur, and Shillong.
