The cost of gasoline has decreased by 64 paise in Maharashtra. Here, the cost of fuel has decreased by 62 paisa. In Haryana, gasoline has decreased in price by 24 pesos and diesel by 23 pesos. The cost of gasoline and diesel has decreased by 26 pence in Jharkhand as well. In addition to this, the cost of gasoline and diesel has decreased in Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Odisha. On the other hand, diesel and gasoline prices have increased by 45 and 48 pence respectively in West Bengal. Diesel and gasoline prices have increased by 34 and 36 pesi respectively, even in Punjab.
At the moment, a litre of gasoline costs Rs 96.72 in Delhi, while a litre of diesel costs Rs 89.62. While in Mumbai, a litre of gasoline costs Rs 106.31 and a litre of diesel costs Rs 94.27. Diesel costs Rs 92.76 and gasoline Rs 106.03 per litre in Kolkata, respectively. On the other side, in Chennai, gasoline costs Rs 102.63 and diesel Rs 94.24 a litre.
Prices for gasoline and diesel are set in India by oil marketing companies (OMCs) such Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum. Rates are set daily, according on the global price of crude oil, and this is done on an ongoing basis.
