Drama Today as AAP Prepares for Uprising Against Arrest; BJP’s Spcl Prayers at Rajghat, Sanjay Singh News

On Thursday, October 5, at 11 a.m., the Aam Aadmi Party plans to demonstrate in front of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s New Delhi headquarters in opposition to Sanjay Singh’s detention. AAP leaders will stage a protest outside the Mumbai office of the Enforcement Directorate at the same time.

On the other side, BJP MPs, MLAs, and senior leaders will offer prayers at 11 am to “end the corrupt regime in Delhi” at Rajghat, a Mahatma Gandhi memorial complex.

A day after AAP leader Sanjay Singh was detained by the ED in connection with its money laundering investigation related to the 2021–22 Delhi Excise policy case, there have been new AAP vs. BJP demonstrations.

After holding its third top leader in little than a year, the happenings shocked Delhi’s governing party.

The arrest of 51-year-old Singh, who followed former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia as the second prominent Aam Aadmi Party leader to be taken into custody in the case involving the now-cancelled Excise policy, sparked a political brawl between the Arvind Kejriwal-led party and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

On May 30, 2022, the ED detained Delhi minister Satyendar Jain in connection with a different money laundering investigation.

POINTS OF SANJAY SINGH’S ARRESTERY

On Thursday, Singh is anticipated to appear before a local court in Delhi, where the ED will ask for permission to question him while he is in custody.

• Raghav Magunta, the son of YSR Congress Party Lok Sabha MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, and Delhi-based businessman Dinesh Arora were given permission by a Delhi court to serve as approvers in a money laundering case related to the alleged Delhi excise policy fraud the day before Singh was arrested.

• Several members of the opposition coalition in INDIA came out in support of Singh, with Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), stating that the arrest would only help the newly formed coalition, which was created to compete with the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

• Following Singh’s arrest, Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi and several party officials, including Somnath Bharti, Atishi, Saurabh Bharadwaj, visited Singh’s home.

• He said that the AAP is “a hardcore honest party” in a statement made to media following. “We are all aware of how difficult the road to honesty is. All of our issues will be solved if we start acting dishonestly like them. These issues are developing because we are blatantly honest, according to Kejriwal.

• Kejriwal accused the BJP-led federal government of engaging in more over 1,000 searches as part of the probe into the excise policy matter, but said that not a single penny of unjustified riches had been discovered.
