Google Makes It Simpler To Remove Images And Personal Data From Search Results: How It Operates

Everybody has come across personal information about themselves online that they would like not have shown up in Google Search results. Google has long provided a feature that lets users ask for the removal of search results, but the search engine giant has now released a new dashboard that makes the process considerably simpler. Google is also updating some of its rules governing the ranking of explicit personal material on Search.

In order to allow users to request its removal, Google will now alert users when it discovers personal information about them in Search, such as phone numbers, home addresses, or emails. The ‘Results about you’ feature, which makes it simple for consumers to ask for the removal of search results that include their personal data, is built upon by this.

Google is introducing a new dashboard that will alert customers if their contact information or other data is showing up in Google Search results to make this process simpler for them.

The new dashboard will initially only be accessible in the United States and only in English, but Google says it is working to quickly add support for more languages and locations.

Simple Removal of Explicit Personal Imagery

Google is also strengthening its commitment to shield users from explicit material and non-consensual pictures by letting users delete “any of their personal, explicit images that they no longer wish to be visible in Search.”

“For instance, if you developed and uploaded explicit material to a website, removed it, and it was later published elsewhere without your permission, you may ask for its removal from Search. You are now commercializing material, thus this guideline does not apply to it, according to Google.

Users may use this link to send Google a request to have certain search results removed, and then fill out the form.

In spite of the fact that they won’t be removed from the source, such as a website, deleting personal explicit photographs from Google Search will prevent them from showing up in search results, according to Google.
