How to Charge Another iPhone using an iPhone 15’s USB-C Port

Apple complies with the new EU regulation by including a USB C charging port for the first time on the new iPhone 15 series. Contrary to claims, however, the business plans to offer the USB-C iPhones in all of its territories. Although we’ve previously shown that switching to USB C won’t make iPhones charge any quicker than Android phones do, there are still a lot of advantages to the transition.

Recently, it was revealed that the iPhone 15 series devices’ USB C connectors allow for cable charging of Apple Watch and AirPods by default, a feature already available on iPads with USB-C ports.

But did you know that the iPhone 15’s USB-C connector is also capable of charging an other iPhone? That’s correct; whether you have the new iPhone 15 or an older iPhone with a lightning connection, both of them will start charging as soon as you attach the charging cable to the USB-C port on the latter.

An iPhone with a lightning connection and the USB C iPhone 15 were linked in a recent movie featuring the iPhone 15, and the iPhone began to charge right away. Although we are unsure of the charging speed, the addition of USB C to iPhones has additional benefit: it may now serve as a backup charging option.

The intriguing feature is that it will automatically determine which iPhone needs the energy and make sure that the one with a low battery isn’t about to run out of power when you charge one iPhone 15 using another iPhone with a USB C connector.

The charge dynamics are complicated when a lightning-connected iPhone is plugged into a USB Type-C iPhone 15, and one iPhone may begin charging the other without being aware of which model has a lower battery. Power Delivery (PD) capability, which is equally efficient when charging an Android phone using an iPhone 15 series model, makes the seamless charging technology on USB C feasible.
