IRCTC and Zomato collaborate to improve the dining experience for rail travelers

IRCTC, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, and Zomato, the world’s largest meal delivery company, have created an interesting alliance.

Through the E-Catering sector, this partnership is going to completely transform the culinary experience for travelers using Indian railroads by providing them with a mouthwatering selection of meal alternatives. Additionally, this strategic partnership guarantees travelers greater options and unmatched convenience throughout their train journeys, taking their travel experience to new heights.

IRCTC has launched a Proof of Concept (PoC) at five of the nation’s busiest train stations as part of this exciting cooperation. New Delhi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Varanasi are some of these stations. Through the IRCTC E-Catering site, travelers may easily purchase and enjoy pre-ordered meals as part of this PoC, thanks to Zomato’s essential support.

IRCTC’s culinary department is prepared to treat the passengers with unique services and offers as the holiday season approaches. They’ve created Navratri thalis in consideration of the special nutritional requirements of travelers who are fasting.

The IRCTC has partnered with M/s. Zomato Limited for supply and delivery of pre-ordered meals through IRCTC’s E-catering portal as a Proof of Concept (PoC) in the first phase at five Railway stations, namely New Delhi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Varanasi, in order to increase the variety of options available to rail passengers for ordering food of their choice under IRCTC’s E-Catering segment.

In addition, Zomato’s stock made news on October 18 when it rose to a 52-week high of Rs 115 after the announcement of its cooperation with the Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corp (IRCTC). It is obvious that this partnership benefits everyone concerned, not just the passengers.
