Market value of top seven companies rises to Rs 67,259.99 cr, with Reliance leading the gainers

Amidst an overall upward trend in stocks, the aggregate market valuation of seven of the ten most valued companies increased by Rs 67,259.99 crore in the holiday-shortened past week. Reliance Industries emerged as the largest gainer.

The BSE benchmark increased by 819.41 points, or 1.12%, last week.

Only three trading sessions were held on the markets last week due to Monday’s Holi and Good Friday (March 29) holidays.

Reliance Industries’ value increased to Rs 20,14,010.63 crore from Rs 45,262.59 crore.

With the addition of Rs 5,533.26 crore, the State Bank of India’s market worth increased to Rs 6,71,666.29 crore.

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) saw an increase in value of Rs 5,218.12 crore to Rs 5,78,484.29 crore, while ICICI Bank saw an increase in valuation of Rs 4,132.67 crore to Rs 7,69,542.65 crore.

The market capitalization (mcap) of Hindustan Unilever increased by Rs 2,819.51 crore to Rs 5,32,946.04 crore, while that of HDFC Bank increased by Rs 4,029.69 crore to Rs 11,00,184.60 crore.

ITC’s mcap increased to Rs 5,35,032.74 crore with the addition of Rs 264.15 crore.

Nonetheless, the market capitalization of Infosys dropped by Rs 4,163.13 crore to Rs 6,22,117.38 crore, while that of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) fell by Rs 10,691.45 crore to Rs 14,05,102.38 crore.

The value of Bharti Airtel decreased to Rs 6,95,038.48 crore from Rs 3,817.18 crore.

At the top of the list of most valuable companies was still Reliance Industries, which was followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India, Infosys, LIC, ITC, and Hindustan Unilever.
