Meet The UP Assistant Professor Who Overcame All Socioeconomic Barriers, Virendra Kumar Yadav

Resilience, patience, and hard effort are the cornerstones of success. Sometimes one’s upbringing or financial situation is irrelevant. What counts is the amount of work someone puts in to succeed. Virendra Kumar Yadav, who came from an incredibly impoverished family in the Uttar Pradesh region of Mau and is now an assistant professor of English at North Eastern Hill University at the Central University of Meghalaya, is in a similar predicament. It was his charm and hard work that made her possible.

In the UP district of Mau, in the hamlet of Thakurmanpur, Virendra Kumar Yadav was born. Despite coming from a low-income farming family at birth, he had always aspired to achieve great things in life. His family didn’t have enough money at first. Virendra thus finished his elementary schooling in the community primary school. Having excelled academically from boyhood, he made the decision to dedicate his life to the study of English. He chose to take this as a challenge and dedicate a significant amount of time to learning English since he had heard that it was the most challenging subject.

He attended Talimuddin College in the same district for further secondary education after completing his secondary school at KL Nomani School, Mau. Following that, he made the decision to pursue postgraduate studies at BHU after deciding he wanted to learn more and draw motivation from the residents of his community. He began his Ph.D. studies at BHU in 2021 under the direction of Professor Anita Singh after earning his MA degree there and being eligible for both the JRF and NET.

In terms of his private life, his family has always seen marriage as required. He even made the decision to get married as a consequence. He kept up his love of English after being married, and after conquering all challenges, he was accepted to the Central University of Meghalaya.

Virendra recalled the hard times in an interview, saying, “My father never lost courage and taught all of us brothers and sisters, even though it was hard to manage the money.” My father deserves all the praise for my achievements. To my younger brother and mother, who provided me with unwavering support. I owe what I am today to my family and their selflessness.”
