OpenAI appoints Pragya Misra as Public Policy Head at ChatGPT Maker, Hiring Its First Employee in India

The company that created ChatGPT, OpenAI, has recruited its first worker in India. the head of government relations was appointed, as per a report from Bloomberg. The first round of the Lok Sabha elections in India is taking place on April 19. The election of a new administration will determine the laws governing AI in the nation.

Pragya Misra has been appointed by Microsoft-backed OpenAI to oversee partnerships and public policy issues in India, according to the Bloomberg article. Misra, 39, was the manager of public relations at Truecaller before joining Meta, where in 2018 she oversaw WhatsApp’s anti-misinformation effort.

The article states that Misra will join OpenAI at the end of the month.
