Over Rs 1.71 lakh crore is added to m-cap by four out of ten companies

Four of the ten highly valued companies increased their market worth in the stock market last week by a total of Rs 1,71,309.28 crore.

Consistent with a general upward trend in equity markets, the largest gainers were HDFC Bank and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).

HDFC Bank’s market value increased by Rs 76,880.74 crore to Rs 11,77,065.34 crore. With the addition of Rs 49,208.48 crore, LIC’s value increased to Rs 6,27,692.77 crore.

According to market valuation, Reliance Industries is still the most valuable domestic company. TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bharti Airtel, LIC, Infosys, ITC, and Hindustan Unilever are the next companies in line.

The market worth of the top ten businesses suffered a knock of Rs 78,127.48 crore, with index leader Reliance Industries bearing the lion’s share of the losses. The benchmark for the BSE increased by 596.87, or 0.81 percent, last week, reaching an all-time high of 74,501.73 on April 4.

The top 10 pack’s winners were Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC Bank, State Bank of India, and LIC; the losers included Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, Infosys, ITC, and Hindustan Unilever.

State Bank of India’s market capitalization increased by Rs 10,486.42 crore to Rs 6,82,152.71 crore, while TCS’s increased by Rs 34,733.64 crore to Rs 14,39,836.02 crore.

Reliance Industries’ value plummeted from Rs 38,462.95 crore to Rs 19,75,547.68 crore.

Bharti Airtel’s market capitalization decreased by Rs 21,206.58 crore to Rs 6,73,831.90 crore, while ICICI Bank’s market capitalization fell by Rs 9,458.25 crore to Rs 7,60,084.40 crore.

The market value of ITC dropped by Rs 873.93 crore to Rs 5,34,158.81 crore, while that of Infosys fell by Rs 7,996.54 crore to Rs 6,14,120.84 crore.

In contrast, Hindustan Unilever’s dropped to Rs 5,32,816.81 crore, a decrease of Rs 129.23 crore.

Analysts predicted that the commencement of the earnings season, macroeconomic data releases, and worldwide trends will be the main factors influencing the equities markets this week (April 8–12).

In observance of Eid-Ul-Fitr, the equity markets will be closed on Thursday.
