Prices for gasoline and diesel have been released for July 29; see local gas prices now

On Saturday, July 29, the cost of gasoline and diesel in India’s major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gurugram, and Kolkata, remained almost constant. Diesel cost Rs. 89.62 per liter and gasoline cost Rs. 96.72 per liter in Delhi. Mumbai charged Rs 106.31 for a litre of gasoline and Rs 94.27 for a litre of diesel.

At six in the morning on each day, the new or unaltered prices for gasoline and diesel are published. However, because of value-added tax (VAT), freight costs, municipal taxes, etc., they differ from state to state.

Diesel cost Rs 87.89 per liter in Bengaluru while gasoline was priced at Rs 101.94. Fuel prices in Chennai were Rs 102.63 for gasoline and Rs 94.24 for diesel per liter. Diesel cost Rs 92.76 per liter and gasoline cost Rs 106.03 per litre in Kolkata.

Diesel cost Rs 90.05. In Gurugram, the price of a gallon of gasoline was Rs 97.18. In Lucknow, the cost of a litre of gasoline was Rs 97.15, while that of a litre of diesel was Rs 90.32. Petrol cost Rs 96.79 per litre and diesel cost Rs 89.96 in Noida.

Fuel prices in Agra were Rs 96.20 for gasoline and Rs 89.37 for diesel.

Prices for gasoline and diesel are set in India by oil marketing companies (OMCs) such Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum. Rates are set daily, according on the global price of crude oil, and this is done on an ongoing basis.

According to news agency Reuters, both oil benchmarks increased by around 5% for the week, marking the fifth consecutive week of increases, helped by production restrictions from the OPEC+ alliance agreed earlier this month. The benchmarks are expected to increase by more than 13% for the month.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil increased by 49 cents to $80.58 per barrel, while Brent crude ended the day 75 cents higher at $84.99 per barrel.

Earlier in the day, both benchmarks temporarily declined by as much as $1 as investors booked profits after WTI’s ascent beyond $80 per barrel.
