RBI Monetary Policy: The 6.5% repo rate remains unchanged by the central bank

The first bi-monthly monetary policy announcement for the fiscal year 2024–25 was made today by Governor Shaktikanta Das of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The 6.5% repo rate was maintained by the central bank.

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), led by RBI governor Shaktikanta Das, met for two days, beginning on Wednesday, April 3, and ending today, April 5.

Money Policy of the RBI: What Is the Repo Rate?

The rate at which the RBI loans banks short-term money is known as the repo rate. The repo rate has been unchanged since April 2023 and is now set at 6.5 percent.
