Stock Market Updates: SAIL Up 7%, Nifty Above 22,450, and Sensex Up 350 Points

On Wednesday, benchmark indexes were moving in a range-bound fashion, supported by positive signals from peers across the world.

The NSE Nifty 50 was up more than 90 points at 22,459.80, while the S&P BSE Sensex was up 300 points, maintaining its 74,000-mark.

On the 30-share Sensex, JSW Steel, Tata Steel, and Sun Pharma are a few of the top gainers. Axis Bank and Hindustan Unilever opened on a flat note today in anticipation of their Q4 results.

The BSE SmallCap index fell on highs in the wider markets after rising by about 1% to reach a new record high of 46,912.

The Nifty Metal was up more than 2% among sectors, while the healthcare industry had an increase of more than 1%.

Worldwide Cues

In other Asian markets, the Nikkei and Kospi were up about 2% each, while the Hang Seng was up 0.9%.

The Nasdaq Composite experienced the biggest rise of 1.59 percent overnight, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 0.69 percent and the S&P 500 by 1.2%.
