The Nifty jumps 202 points to 22,097, while the Sensex jumps 759 points to surpass the 73,000 barrier

The Sensex gained by 759.49 points, or 1.05 percent, finishing at 73,327.94, while the Nifty increased by 203 points, or 0.93 percent, completing at 22,097.50.

Top gainers on the Nifty were Wipro, ONGC, Infosys, HCL Technologies, and Bharti Airtel. Among the biggest losses were HDFC Life, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Hindalco Industries, and Eicher Motors.

With the exception of metals, all sectoral indexes concluded the day higher. PSU Bank, Oil & Gas, and Information Technology all saw percentage gains of 1%. During the session, the overall indexes reached new highs and ended the day marginally higher.
