The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor was released for high-end Android smartphones

The most recent flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, was unveiled today by semiconductor manufacturer Qualcomm. The flagship Android smartphones are intended to use the new processor. The new chip is designed to support big manufacturers like iQOO, Honour, Redmi, Realme, and Xiaomi, whose commercial handsets are anticipated to be unveiled this year (or at any point shortly).

The platform also enables breakthrough connections, lossless HD sound delivery, sophisticated on-device GenAI capabilities, an always-sensing ISP, and hyperrealistic mobile gaming, according to the business.

“Our powerful Qualcomm® AI Engine infuses brilliance into your every move, from drafting documents to intelligently creating one-of-a-kind content,” Qualcomm said on their official website. With one of the quickest speeds in the smartphone market, LLM models can process up to 20 tokens per second. When steady diffusion is achieved, they can produce a picture in a matter of milliseconds. We enable the impossibly feasible, ushering in a new age of creative AI.”

This chip has a wide range of AI models, including well-known large language models (LLMs) like Gemini Nano, Baichuan-7B, and Llama 2.

“With capabilities including on-device generative AI and advanced photography features, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is designed to enhance user experiences, fostering creativity and productivity in their daily lives,” stated Chris Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of mobile handsets at Qualcomm Technologies.

With the help of generative AI, the new mobile platform will “allow us to provide our customers with a personalised premium experience,” according to William Lu, Partner and President of Xiaomi Corporation, President of the International Business Department, and General Manager of Xiaomi Brand.
