Three New “SBI Card MILES” Travel Credit Card Variants Are Available Now from SBI Card

The biggest pure-play credit card issuer in India, SBI Card, has introduced three distinct variants of the first travel-focused core credit card, called “SBI Card MILES,” in Mumbai today. The card seeks to provide all kinds of travelers with full travel benefits. Among the many exciting benefits of the SBI Card Miles are the ability to convert travel credits into Air Miles and Hotel Points, get faster rewards on every trip ticket, and get access to airport lounges. To provide cardholders with maximum redemption options, the card has partnerships with more than 20 airlines and hotel chains, such as Air Vistara, Air India, Spicejet, Air France-KLM, Etihad Airways, Air Canada, Thai Airways, Qantas Airways, ITC Hotels, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and Accor.

The three SBI Card MILES versions—SBI Card MILES ELITE, SBI Card MILES PRIME, and SBI Card MILES—have been designed to improve these experiences via carefully chosen travel features. Cardholders may collect up to 6 travel credits for every Rs 200 spent on travel, and up to 2 travel credits for every Rs 200 spent on other categories.

Cardholders may quickly and simply redeem Travel Credits for a range of popular flights and hotel partners via the services offered by the “SBI Card MILES” bouquet. Travel Credits may be used to quickly book travel and hotel stays by visiting the SBI Card website or mobile app. Alternatively, they can be converted into Air Miles or Hotel Points for their respective partners.

The Chairman of the State Bank of India, Mr. Dinesh Kumar Khara, said, “India’s standing in the world has been enhanced by the country’s strong economic development and healthy consumer landscape. India is regarded as one of the major source markets for outbound travel in many nations, including those in Asia and Europe, even in the travel industry today. I applaud SBI Card for introducing SBI Card MILES, a potent offering that will transform Indian customers’ travel experiences.”

“Our customer-centric approach has always driven us to design innovative products, solutions, and services that address evolving and diverse lifestyle needs and offer customers an extremely rewarding experience,” said Mr. Abhijit Chakravorty, MD & CEO of SBI Card, in a statement made during the launch.

Indian tourists are big spenders abroad, so it seems logical that they would seek out well-chosen perks to improve their trips, especially because they have larger and more extensive travel schedules. Our goal at SBI Card MILES is to provide our clients with the greatest travel advantages available. The card is intended to be the cardholder’s only travel companion. We are certain that the special advantages provided by our travel-focused core card will be appreciated by our cardholders.”

The SBI Card Miles Elite comes with a number of different spending milestone benefits. These consist of up to 20,000 travel credits upon reaching a milestone of Rs 12 lakh, a spending-based fee reversal upon reaching a milestone of Rs 15 lakh, and up to 5000 travel credits upon reaching a milestone of Rs 1 lakh within 60 days of enrolling. SBI Card Miles Elite members are also eligible for Priority Pass membership. Using the card, cardholders are eligible for up to 8 free domestic lounge visits and up to 6 free international airport lounge visits each year.

A gift ticket for one lounge admission will be given to the cardholder once they spend Rs 1 lakh overall. They may use the coupon themselves or give it to a guest. Notably, SBI Card Miles Elite cardholders will also get a low 1.99% foreign transaction markup in addition to travel insurance. The card will be available via the Mastercard and RuPay networks. SBI Card MILES PRIME and SBI Card MILES have yearly costs of Rs 2,999 and Rs 1,499 plus applicable taxes, respectively, while SBI Card MILES ELITE has joining and annual fees of Rs 4,999 plus applicable taxes.

Apart from corporate cards catering to the diverse income and lifestyle needs of all main cardholder categories, SBI Cards and Payment Services Limited (SBI Card) is a non-banking financial organization providing a wide range of credit cards to both individual and corporate customers. The portfolio consists of cards for banking relationships, travel & fuel, rewards, and leisure. The brand has a sizable base of around 18.5 MM+ cards in use as of Q3 FY24.
