TikTok Starts Testing Notes, Its Photo-Sharing App, In Some Countries: All The Details

In certain regions, TikTok has quietly released a direct rival to Instagram on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The company’s PR team discussed its new app, TikTok notes, in a statement that was published on X. The article says, “We’re testing out a specific area on TikTok Notes for text and picture material right now.

TikTok Notes may now be downloaded and tested in limited quantities in Canada and Australia.” In a follow-up post in the forum, they unveiled a few official screenshots of the mobile app. For those who do not have access to the program, these picture files are intended to provide some insight into its capabilities and appearance.

It is also implied in the second post in the thread that TikTok’s next app would be a photo-based social media network. It says, “We hope that the TikTok community will continue to share their moments through photo posts by using TikTok Notes.” The TikTok Notes experience is made for people who want to interact and communicate via visual content, whether they are sharing moments from their day, expressing their creativity, or chronicling trips.

Users must already have an active TikTok account in order to utilize the new TikTok Notes app. The business also said that users’ past, present, and future postings would be seen on the new Notes app unless they opted out.

The photographs uploaded by TikTok’s PR department have a unique title column for each image, situated just above the description area. Instagram doesn’t come with a native headline tab. Additionally, the webpage is clearly divided into two areas. A dedicated page is available for you to see the postings from the users you follow.

There is also a ‘For You’ tab on the app, which includes a two-column grid and looks similar to Pinterest’s homepage. Aside from these modifications, the program is quite identical to Instagram. But unlike its Meta cousin, the app doesn’t seem to include the “Stories” function because of its antiquated design.

Earlier this month, TikTok unveiled its brand-new photo-sharing app. Users received a notice announcing the app’s release. Other than its name, little was revealed during the launch. The rationale for the company’s decision to release this new software initially in Canada and Australia is likewise unclear. Regarding the release of the TikTok Notes app in the US or other countries, no information has been released.
