What We Know About Bajaj Auto’s Qute Quadricycle Launch in Egypt

Leading two- and three-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto is not only gaining ground in Egypt but is also accelerating in India.

The Egyptian government has approved the use of quadricycles for public transit, the business recently said.

This action creates a fresh opportunity for Bajaj, which according to Money Control intends to begin exporting its Qute model to Egypt as soon as this month.

After revealing their most recent results, Bajaj Auto management, excited by this trend, emphasized their confidence during a conference call. They emphasized their dedication to the development of this new market area as well as its enormous potential.

Bajaj has a strong market share, with half a million three-wheelers currently cruising Egypt’s streets. The corporation is resolute in the face of obstacles like Egypt’s present monetary crisis, which might restrict output. They are confident in the Egyptian market, as shown by their maiden shipment of around 250 units.

For Bajaj, however, things aren’t always easy. There are some obstacles because of the Central Bank of Egypt’s economic actions and the Egyptian pound’s recent drop vs the US currency. These policies affect currency availability in addition to their goals of reducing inflation and luring in foreign investment.

Turning now to the topic of electric vehicles (EVs), Bajaj acknowledged that despite government incentives such as the Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI), profitability is still a long way off.

During the conference call, Bajaj Auto’s Chief Financial Officer, Dinesh Thapar, stressed that it is still difficult for electric two-wheelers to achieve unit-level profitability.

Bajaj Auto is persevering in its attempts to expand globally in spite of obstacles, and the Egyptian market is showing promise as a market for its cutting-edge automobiles.
